Australasian Psychology Services accepts both full fee paying clients and individuals receiving part-payment through government funding/private health insurance. The Australian Psychological Society's (APS) recommended_fee for a standard consultation (46-60 minutes) in 2023-2024 is $300 (excluding GST). Our general fee for services is $275 per consultation (excluding GST). Fees for non-standard services (e.g., legal briefings, group consultation) may differ; please contact_us for a complete schedule of fees if required.

Standard consultations are typically 50-60 minutes in duration. The initial appointment may be longer (approximately 90 minutes) to allow sufficient time to gain a detailed understanding of you and your needs. A thorough initial consultation is important to help plan subsequent sessions and is charged at the same rate as a standard 50-60 minute appointment.

CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGY SERVICES
Our usual fee for clinical psychology services is $275 per consultation. You may be eligible to claim a proportion of your fee for clinical psychology services through Medicare if you have a referral and Mental Health Care Plan completed by your GP prior to your initial consultation. Through the Medicare Benefits Scheme, you may be eligible to receive up to 10 sessions (6 + 4) per calendar year. A proportion of the fee may also be redeemable through private health insurance, depending on your cover.

FORENSIC PSYCHOLOGY SERVICES
Our usual fee for forensic psychology services is $300 per consultation. Fixed rate fees may apply for some services (e.g., Court reports, Risk Assessments), although the price may vary depending on the length of the assessment, details required in the report, and/or required turn-around time. Fees for non-standard services (e.g., legal briefings, court attendance, telephone/internet consultation) may differ, and some services will attract the 10% Goods & Services Tax (GST); please contact_us for a complete schedule of fees if required. Individuals seeking forensic psychology assessment services/court reports may be eligible for funding through Victoria_Legal_Aid.

Legal/Court Report Services:
In line with our commitment to provide comprehensive psychological assessments to vulnerable individuals, Australasian Psychology Services offer a proportion of our Legal/Court Report Service at a reduced rate; to ensure that the costs associated with quality psychological assessments remain within the schedule of fees allocated through Victoria Legal Aid.

At Australasian Psychology Services we are committed to the goal of expediting the judicial process, and thus complete all our legal/court reports in a timely manner. We also understand the somewhat unpredictable nature of the legal system, and therefore offer a Short Turn-around Service where we can guarantee the completion of a report within a week; so long as all relevant information is provided at the time of referral and, prompt access to the client can be facilitated. This service is billed at a premium rate to account for the disruption to our practice that such requests entail.
Terms of Payment
Full payment is required for each session at the time of the appointment. You may then submit the invoice for a rebate from Medicare or your private health insurer if applicable. You cannot claim a rebate from both Medicare and your Private Health Fund for the same referral.

Cancellation Policy
When an appointment is made, our psychologists commit this time to you. Unlike other professional services, cancellations made at short notice usually cannot be filled. Missed sessions can therefore add pressure to increase fees, thus, the following cancellation policy applies to all appointments:

If you do need to cancel or postpone your appointment, please provide at least 48 hours notice.
Cancellations/postponed appointments made 24-48 hours before your scheduled session will attract 50% of the consultation fee, payable at your next session.
Cancellations/postponed appointments made with less than 24 hours notice will attract 75% of the consultation fee, payable at your next session.

Appointments cannot be cancelled via Text Message, as the telecommunication companies have advised that they cannot guarantee the delivery of these messages. Please note that Medicare Rebates and Private Health Insurance Rebates are not applicable to cancellation fees.
